- This will always be a very special piece for me as it was the first time I tried to use my art to express the dichotomy of disability as I experienced it in my life
- The orange flowers are vibrant, joyful & bursting with life - so much so that they almost overwhelm the single yellow flower in their midst
- If you search for it, you can see that the single yellow bloom is quietly existing & is equally worthy of joy but is struggling to come out of the shadows - it’s seen and unseen at the same time
- The loose brush strokes & irregular petals help to draw the viewer in and lead the eye to the single flower in the background
